Houston, Texas.  Engagement and setting 4.25 carats, wedding ring, .50. Total, 4.75 carats. In Texas I feel like the norm is over 1 carat diamond and then a setting on top of that. I’m going by friends and my sisters friends.

I’m in Boston and have a ~1.25 super high-quality diamond. I think that a lot of people on the WB boards have mentioned before that they expect lots of folks in Boston to have big rings, but I think that mine is on the larger side of what I’ve seen. I see rings of all shapes and sizes here, but people definitely tend to get married on the older side here, like in the NY area, and ~1 ct seems to be the norm that I see.

I’m from Toronto and I have a 1 carat Moissanite now. Pretty average size. But my original set has a .41 carat centre stone and it was smaller than many of my peers at the time I got it in my early 30’s.

Bay Area, California – hello other Bay Area brides!

Mine is round solitaire, 2.02 carats. I forget the rest of the specs: I believe H color, very good cut. It is a family heirloom – the diamond belonged to my FI’s grandmother, and we had it re-set in yellow gold, which was my preference.

Of my friends, mine is definitely on the large side, but a lot of my friends have non-diamond stones, just wear a wedding band, etc. I love how everyone has their own thing going!

emeraldbee :  This is well said 🙂 I live in a Seattle suburb and we are surrounded with Microsoft, Boeing and Amazon employess. No one is starving 🙂  there are some seriously large stones on the ladies that I see in the supermarket/ at Starbucks.

Mine is a 1.75 round stone on a pave band. I’d say it’s about average for where I live… but its not uncommon to see many that are larger.

SmartCookie1 :  I live in a suburb of Seattle, too. 😊 I work downtown and see some big stones/very blingy rings! I love looking at everyone’s rings – so pretty!

I’m in California but have dumped all my diamonds (don’t like DeBeers). Currently wearing an 8mm moissy (2.5 carat equivalent). It’s the average size in my locale.

1.25 ct center stone with another .75 carats in the band (2 CT total solitaire with diamonds in band)

I live in Raleigh, North Carolina but it ALL depends. I would say .75-1.5 is average from what I’ve seen around here.
