I was hanging out with some friends a while ago and they joked that there should be a reality show to document the lives of some women in our circle because there was some batshit crazy stuff happening. Think Bravo Real Housewives… I’ll be honest, their drama was MADE for TV and I probably would have watched but I would NEVER, EVER think to even put my life on television. Just too scary to think what producers could do in editing for storylines and also, the judgement from strangers would be anxiety inducing.
But now that I’ve been watching more reality shows (Southern Charm, 90Dear Fiance, Second wives club, etc.) I’m seeing that a lot of people are more than willing to put it all out there on TV. Probably thicker skin than I…
Would you do it??

Absolutely never. And I think it’s sick that people subject their children to this (looking at you TLC).
I’ve always wondered what do people do 10 years down the road when their show is cancelled and they have to try and find a regular job?

Hell no. I like my general anonymity and I honestly don’t think I have thick enough skin for the kind of hate/criticism famous people get.
I’m also way too boring for tv! Unless people want to watch me sit on the couch with my dog rewatching Gilmore Girls for the hundredth time?

Yikes, if anyone would be willing to WATCH my life, then maybe? But seriously, my life is SO boring compared to the people on the telly that I’m not sure they could find any way to edit, manipulate and market it. Who wants to watch me cook dinner and take my daughter roller skating? I teach, so they probably couldn’t put kids in my classroom on camera, so what is there really left?

Sure, lol. It’d be boring as heck, but yes I would take that money.
Plus the oppruintunity to have a bigger platform, maybe have my book published and have it do well.

Hahaha. No way would I sign up for a reality show. I barely post pictures of myself or my husband on social media. We’re really private people and I couldn’t imagine living in a fishbowl. I also feel like being on reality shows makes people up their drama and that seems exhausting

The only reality show I would go on is one of those home renovation shows. I love home renovating and interior design!

I definitely wouldn’t, but my husband always says he would love to do one of those survival TV shows where they drop you off somewhere and you have to survive by yourself. I told him he’s insane.

Depends on the show. I wouldn’t go on the bachelor (married now but still) or something more ‘drama’ but I think there are plenty of more ‘normal’ reality shows that I would do. As long as you’re not doing something super trashy or super embarrassing I don’t think it would haunt you.

LOL! Today I binge-watched the new season of Orange is the New Black and now I’m eating crackers. I can’t imagine this would be a huge ratings hit.

I do a lot of super adventurous stuff in my day to day life and people are always telling me I should go on like Survivor or Naked and Afraid. But I’d cope with my surroundings and be just fine and would make really boring TV because I would never have some wild mental breakdown in front of the cameras or scream at anyone lol. And even though I am a very naked person in real life… the idea of doing that on TV sounds like the worst thing ever! Nobody needs to see my wrinkly tummy on a big ol flat screen 😉

It would take tens of millions of dollars. Otherwise nope.
