I took a pregnancy test yesterday and found out I was pregnant! I just finished reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility and was planning on starting to chart after my next period.
I had been having stomach cramps/pains for the past week or so and hadn’t started my period yet, so I had a little feeling I was pregnant. It hasn’t been but about 3 weeks since my last period. Beginning last week, I felt very uncomfortable wearing jeans and actually had to unbutton them to feel more comfortable. It is the same this week – I couldn’t be more than a few weeks along. Is this normal? My pants aren’t too tight, but it just feels so much better to unbutton my pants – so much less pressure. Has anyone felt like this?

And yes that’s pretty normal.

Totally normal! The day after I found out I felt like I was already 4 months – it is the bloating!! The insane bloating and cramping happened right away. Your body is undergoing a ton of changes!
My “Taking Charge of your Fertility” book arrived in the mail the day after my positive pregnancy test. I guess I took charge haha
CONGRATS and so exciting!

Thanks everyone! We are really happy!
I told my husband that all I needed to do is read the book to get pregnant! I’m glad to hear it is normal to feel this way. I’m at work right now with my pants unbuttons and half unzipped 🙂
I have had some bad cramping too – enough to put me in tears, but then after some time it goes away and I’m fine. I always have some sort of cramping feeling going on though. I go to the doctor on Wednesday to “confirm pregnancy” and get a checkup. I am really overwhelmed right now, as we weren’t really trying yet, and I haven’t done any research on what I should or shouldn’t be doing. I’m trying to find out what I can and can’t eat and do, but there is just sooo much information out there! I have just so many emotions right now!

Y’all are all too sweet…thank you 🙂
It is nice to be able to share the news with people. I know I only found out yesterday, but I don’t know how to not blurt it out to everyone. Especially my family who I work with and see everyday!!! I am also going to my In-laws this weekend, and have no idea how to handle it and keep it a secret.
I’m definitely not going to say anything to anyone until after we see the doctor, and I know a lot of people wait a few months. How long did y’all all wait to tell people the news?
