My assistant just contacted me to let me know one of our coworkers, another woman who also has done a lot of work for me lately, died Friday night. She had been airlifted to a larger hospital Thursday night due to heart palpitations (she has had prior heart surgery) and they did surgery but it was too late and she passed away Friday night. She was quite young – about 26 or 27.
She leaves behind a young son and was supposed to go to Vegas on Wednesday to get married to her fiance. I was just giving her ideas on Thursday about what to do and see in Vegas and she was so looking forward to it.
Just would appreciate any thoughts and well wishes for her family and friends.

Omg that is so young! I’m so sorry for her friends and family. Is there anything that can be done for her son?

I am so sorry for your loss and for her family and friends’ loss. What a tragedy. Is your workplace in a position to do something small to remember her, like planting a tree or making a donation to a cause that she cared about?
A few years ago, my fiance had a co-worker who died in childbirth. I’m not going to lie, it shook us both up pretty good for a while about a lot of things. Fiance was involved with the committee at work that chose a tree and had a plaque made, and we learned later that various co-workers had actually stayed involved with the raising of the child.

@village_skeptic: Oh I imagine we will do something. We are a very close workplace, we socialize in our off time together with our spouses/family a lot as well so she was part of our “work/social family” and we knew her Fiance and son.
Your FIs workplace did a lovely gesture that is for sure!
