First – take a day (or several) to let this sink in and get your head around it. Obviously, you weren’t planning for a pregnancy, but if you and your fiance are going to welcome a baby into your lives, you need to take a little time to make sure you’re thinking straight. Different women carry differently (they “pop” at different stages), but it’s unlikely that you would be very big by your wedding. Talk to a seamstress about what they could do to alter your dress to make sure it will fit. You are not the first pregnant bride ever, they should be able to work with you 🙂 Please do not focus on trying to make sure you don’t gain weight – you need to gain weight for the health of your baby. Be active and eat healthy, but make sure that what you’re doing is safe (and focus on healthy weight gain, not preventing weight gain).
Finally, congratulations! I’m sure you’re overwhelmed right now, but you’re going to be a mom!

First of all, don’t worry about the dress, it’s JUST a dress after all. You can’t predict how you’re going to gain (I can tell you at 21 weeks I would definitely still have fit in my wedding dress. Please don’t diet. Eating better is important, but not in a way that prevents you from gaining, you belly will still swell even if the rest of you were to get smaller. Depending on the dress it might fit, or might not, but maybe the salon can switch your dress closer to the date, with an empire waist sample or whatever?
Congratulations, it will all work out!

What is your style of dress?
At 21 weeks I wasn’t showing very much at all, though I was out of my regular pants. If you have a ballgown or a-line style dress I don’t think you would need to change anything.
Definitely don’t diet, but you can continue to work out. That will prevent too much weight gain. Most people don’t gain weight or only gain a few lbs in the first trimester. But I think by 21 weeks you might be 10 lbs heavier. Still might be workable with your dress depending on the style. Otherwise you might look into a different style and see if you can trade out or sell yours.
