Congratulations! I’m 6 weeks today and I’ve had ” period cramps ” almost every day. Just light nothing major, but they’re there. They say light spotting is normal but if it gets heavy then to get it checked out. You could always make an appt with a dr. if you’re worried. Come join the August 2013 baby board for support ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrats! Just wanted to warn you… You will probably only have a tiny white blip on the ultrasound on the 21st. It sounds like its still way too early. We had one at 3 weeks because of spotting and 8 weeks before they actually saw anything worthy of a picture to announce. Maybe you can do a cute picture of you/dh to announce the pregnancy.

The cramping is completely normal. If it gets to pms levels of pain then contact a dr. The spotting is fine too. Our spotting was from our first time having intercourse since we found out. There is more blood flowing there so it’s likely to bleed.

Hi! Your cramping is completely normal and will continue through your pregnancy. The bleeding can be considered normal, too. I had a “period” for several months while pregnant with my first. (I have 4) Do you know if you have fibroids? That could also make you bleed throughout your pregnancy. I’m sure all is well. It’s hard not to worry, but wait until you see a doctor and bring your list of questions ๐Ÿ™‚

How did you get an ultrasound without a doctor? I’ve never heard of that.  Unless you went to a 3D elective place and they aren’t supposed to scan you for medical reasons…  You really need to go to a doctor.  Even if it is a regular family doctor.  You should let them know about the bleeding as well.  It certainly can be normal but it also can be the sign of an impending miscarriage.  From what I hear it is like 50/50 at this point.  But  a doctor can draw blood and check your hormone levels to tell you whether it seems like things are progessing normally.  I don’t want to scare you but talk to a doctor.  Advice on here is not medical advice.  Best wishes!

we had an ultrasound at 5w5d and got to measure the heartbeat, we even saw the heart beat flickering! it did look like a white blob though. (ive posted the picture on my baby g to be post) cramping is normal! and so is spotting. im 9 weeks and havent spotted, but other mommies have spotted near 6 weeks and after and have been ok! pay close attention to it and call your doctor if you are nervous, but definitely call if its bright red or heavy. at 9w, im still having some cramps and pain in my right side. good luck & congrats!

Congrats. Cramping is completely normal and I had really painful ones but am just fine. It’s mostly due to hormonal changes and your uterus expanding. Also, spotting is normal as well as long as it’s not prolonged or heavy- you’re fine.

@travellingfool:  I second this as well. not medical, but it’s really early to tell for sure if this is what’s happening. An appt with an ob-gyn will confirm the pregnancy as well as make sure you are producing normal amounts of hormones to make sure everything is ok at this point. Hope you get in to see one, soon!
