I KNOW!  JUST PUBLISH IT ON YOUR SITE, WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL?!  I don’t want to “chat” for half an hour with you just to find out that I can’t (and won’t!) afford your services.  What is the big deal?!?!?!

The past two weeks, I’ve just been requesting price quotes from all kinds of vendors, many of who seem to dance around the subject!

seeeeeeeeriously!  In my search for photographers I’d rule them out if they didn’t have prices on their site (unless I absolutely positively loved them).  It’s just so unneccessary to go through the whole thing and then find out you can’t afford their services!

I agree. I hate sales pitches, I am always pressed for time so I hate when I just can’t get a price and then decide rather or not to do book the vendor. They think that they can talk us into that why they want the whole dog and pony show.

@mikaylav3: I did the same thing when finding my photographer!

I don’t want to have to pick up the phone just to find out you are out of my budget. Just put it on the website!

I think they have this illusion that by the time they reveal the price, you have already fallen in love with them and would take out a loan to have them at your wedding.  So ridiculous!

I actually picked my vendors based on whether they had prices on their website.  That’s what you get for your secrecy!  Ha!

@nyc new bee: YES! Why can’t they just publish it on their site? it would save us both a lot of time and effort if I could just know right away if they were within my budget or not.

I don’t need these booking agents to call me repeatedly about the $9000 band I don’t want and can’t afford–I wouldn’t have contacted them in the first place if I had known the price! I hate when I have to give my phone number to get a price quote. Now I always say I would prefer to be contacted by email.

@GreenEyedMoon: That is super lame! What about replying with “My budget is in X range. Can you at least let me know if your prices are around that?”

Oh my goodness I am so happy to see this post.  I just got an email like that yesterday.  I asked for a quote, not to set up a meeting.  I already am 99% sure I probably can’t afford you.  Makes me think they are even more expensive if they won’t answer via email.  Dumb!

Ugh, I went through this with some vendors.  Some of which I just moved on since they wouldn’t tell me a price without meeting.
