HCG is the hormone levels in your body. Is it possbile that you are not as far along as you thought you were?

HCG is a hormone. It should double every 24-48 hours. There is a range where they would expect it to be in early pregnancy that gives them an idea of how far along you are. Mine was low with my second, but as long as it was increasing everything was fine.

I would guess that it will be checked again tomorrow and maybe an ultrasound.

HCG is the human chorionic gonadotropin hormone and it is made by cells that form the placenta. It’s not like progesterone or estrogen which you can supplement if your levels are low. While it’s usually used as one of the indicators of how far along you are in your pregnancy/successful growth in the early stages, it’s not the indicator or the most important one. Traditionall, HCG doubles every 48-72 hours after you first conceive.

@Mrs Hedgehog: I thought heartbeat was at 8 weeks but I could be very wrong. We had an US to determine the due date for us and that was at 8 weeks. I thought we had heard the heartbeat then but i could be way off on my dates.

They always panicked over my HCG levels and my kids were fine. Praying this is the story for you to.

Just for informations sake: If HCG levels are low and not increasing  they should be it could mean there is something wrong with the baby and you will miscarry.

Don’t panick mine were always half what the should be for the first two months. It did eventually always straighten itself out.

Hugs and prayers

Yeah the HCG is the pregnancy hormone and maybe its low because you arent as far along as you thought you were? I dont think they can fix it in anyway except monitor it, and it should increase daily

@Mrs Hedgehog: In terms of the heartbeat, I heard my baby’s at 6w6d.  So you can definitely hear them early than 10w.  I hope that you are perhaps just not quite as far along as you thought, be sure to keep us updated!

They found my baby’s heartbeat at 5wks 3 days which they said was a record (at least for their office). Which always made them think I was further along then I was.
