It sounds like either the bride was late on her invitations, or you guys could be on a “B” list. Either way, it doesn’t necessarily mean the bride doesn’t want you there. If that were the case, I would think she wouldn’t send you guys invites period.

I agree sounds like you guys are on the “B” list. Trust me if she didnt want you to come she would not have sent an invitation.

Not everybody does Save the Dates, either.  If you want to go, go.  Don’t worry about any possible slight – she did invite you, after all 🙂

Not everybody does Save-The-Date Cards and invites are traditional sent out 4-6 weeks before the wedding so  I dont think the bride deliberately sent invites late because she doesnt want you to come.

I agree with your likely being on a B list.  It sucks, but sometimes it has to be done.  We’re senidn Save-The-Date Cards to our definite guests and Out of Town people; any invites after-the-fact would be to local people who wouldn’t be as miffed about not getting Save-The-Date Cards.

i agree with pp.  you were on the ‘B’ list.  there is nothing wrong with that though. it’s nice to be considered.  getting the invite a month before is better than only 2 weeks notice.

I just posted about this. Our invite came yesterday. The wedding is in 22 days! It is a lot to plan logistically in such a short time

In our case, it was just a really late arrival. We got an STD months ago.

@bells:  I agree about not everyone sending STD’s but usually, if you have out of town guests, it would be nice to give them more than a one month’s heads up about your wedding date so they can book hotels, cars and flights. I think this is a classic case of the bride maybe not thinking things through. How close are you? I guess if you were close enough you would have known you would be invited and already known the date. Oh well, go if you can. If not, make your apologies.

I hate “B” lists.  We did STD’s about 6 months out.  Then mailed the invites 2 months out…the stupid post office overseas here had some “glitch” with “mass” mailings and sent them all back to us about a month out.  We had to resend them and called all the invitees to let them know what happened…I didn’t want them thinking they were “B” list.  Most got them a few days later.  I thought that was the reason why we only got 1/3 of the RSVPs back but most RSVPd on the website once they got the Save-The-Date Cards.
