So, not many people know the story of my dress because frankly it has been the least of my worries (literally) when it comes to the wedding.
In January I went to a local bridal salon that was supposed to be the best. Everything was horrible & the selection was terrible. I left feeling terrible about my body & wondering why all of those dresses cost in the thousands, but looked so cheap.
I hit the internet, because it is where I do essentially all of my shopping. It just made sense for me, especially because I had body image fears & didn’t really want to go back to a bridal shop.
In March (wedding in July) I found a really pretty & simple dress on ebay. It was an original Theia Couture that retailed for $1,025. I found it at many price points online, but finally found it for $230. I thought that this must be it!
I ordered it & when I received it it was too big, and way too long. I was fairly unimpressed, but I didn’t feel like going back to the drawing board, so I decided to invest in major alterations which ended up costing more than the dress.
Here is a before alterations pic where the dress was too big. I was also 15lbs heavier here:
So, needless to say I was underwhelmed & sort of nervous that it would ever look the way I expected & wanted it to. I was not happy with my weight either, though. I think that played a role in why I was unhappy with everything I tried on.
Well, a couple days ago I picked my dress up from the tailors. I actually really like it! It’s very simple & I think it makes me look young & innocent, which I am totally fine with.
What do you guys think? (sorry about the low quality of the pictures). I would be happy to share my bridal inspiration board as well, and pics of my accesories.

@Kat: Two things:
1. Your dress is beautiful and looks perfect on you!
2. I am EXTREMELY jealous that the dress was the least of your worries when it comes to your wedding. It’s been the MOST of my worries when it comes to my wedding unfortunately 🙁

Thank you guys so much! I’m really happy I didn’t let myself stress about it very much because everything turned out just fine 🙂
Here are the accessories I will be wear, including a pic of my make-up trial look! I will upload a pic of my hair trial when I get home. My hair will be down & curly, but with one side slightly pulled back with a flower.

Thank you all so very much! I really needed that reassurance after seeing all the expensive and highly detailed dresses at the trailor’s shop.
I also really appreciate you saying that I look nice in general, as I am finally to a weight that I can stand to look at myself in the mirror at.

@MxH13: Thank you, thank you! 🙂
I hate to hear that the dress is giving you a headache. What’s going on?
I think I was less stressed about it than most because I had sort of resigned myself to just being mediocre on my day anyway. I’m starting to think I might be beautiful on the big day after all.
