Good job! I’ve never had one, but plan to before the wedding and I am nervous about it because of all the horror stories!!

@MrsConnick:  I was really hoping this thread would talk me into it instead of scaring out of it lol! I’ve been contemplating, but now I’m not so sure! Would you go back and do it again?

(I was hoping there wasn’t any picture!)

Now that I know how much it hurts, I don’t want to do mine! I’ll keep with the shaving on my legs and underarms, and leave that part alone!

For those who are getting only one opinion here, I’ll pipe up and say that I don’t think it hurts any more than getting your eyebrows waxed. In fact, I’m far less likely to flinch when getting waxed there than I am when its over my eyes.

The first couple of pulls are a little jarring, but you get used to it very quickly.

I agree that the first one is the worst and it gets MUCH more comfortable over time.  I wax myself (not a full Brazilian, more like a French) and it’s gotten to the point where I can do it in a half hour with hardly any pain!

Gold star brave lady! It hurts pretty bad, but I find it’s worth it.

Fiance asked why I didn’t try it out.  I’m terrified.  I cringe when I get my eyebrows done.

Don’t be afraid to try it. Honestly waxing down there is less painful than legs.

The more you do it the less it hurts. That and it’s totally dependant on how sensitive you are to pain. I jumped in the pool head first and my first wax was a brazilian. Yeah. Stung. Not the greatest feeling. But totally doable and not too bad and I didn’t hesitate to make another appointment. Totally worth trying at least once – you never know, may not be too bad for you. But sounds like you might be on the sensitive side. Maybe take a pain reliever before you go next time? That helps me. 🙂

The waxer makes a HUGE difference too, some are better, my new one takes mega care ot checking hair direction and putting numbing gel and stuff so even though it still hurt it was way less.

I’ve also heard that where you are in cycle makes a big difference too.  The closer you are to AF (either before or after) the more it hurts.  I’ve done Brazilian a few times and everyone that says it gets easier the more you have it done is 100% correct.

However for the past 3 years I’ve sort of let things go in that department and have just been shaving the bikini area.  I plan to go back for a wax before the big event and it won’t be easy.  Yikes!

I am going to get mine done for the first time in a few weeks!! I have been trying to be as realistic as possible.. and figure out how much I wanted to get waxed!! I heard the first is definitely the worst.
