giggles2011 :  You might want to test that out one month to see how it works for you because I did that once and I had spotting daily for like 2 months straight, it didn’t work for me.

Ugh I’m sorry bee! I’m also worried about this. I bloat up like a balloon and it would NOT be pretty, so I’m already thinking about how I can manage if it does hit (I have four months to go). Some suggestions:

a) another vote for the diva cup! A life changer for comfort and ease, plus more environmentally friendly! Use that and some high waisted period panties, and you should be good to go. You can even buy some Spanx to go over those if you’re really worried about spills.

b) start drinking raspberry leaf tea, a cup a day when you’re not on your period and two to three when you are. I started a few months ago and it has shortened my flow and made it much more manageable. It’s a bit bitter, but you can sweeten it with honey if need be.

c) water water water! Drink it constantly, at all times. And up your fiber intact too. Both of those help with bloat.

d) can you sneak in a quick sweat workout before the wedding? Even a quick jog around the blog or a few burpees can be really good for bloat (and stress!)

I also agree with others that stress can delay it, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it hitting right on your wedding. Good luck!

mrsfox :  I’ve heard of that happening, and that sounds awful. I was going to do 2 test runs (May & July) and see how it works out. Definitely wouldn’t leave it to the week of the wedding to try something new. Thank you!

sweetblessings56 :  Call your doctor about norethisterone. It’s supposed to be started the day before your period and typically delays your period until you stop taking it. Might not completely stop it. For me, it made it minimal spotting and no cramping. So, might still benefit you if you’re extremely heavy and cramp badly.

I’m not on the pill but I have taken a pill to delay my period before (it was going to fall on a beach vacation!). It’s pretty cheap in the uk and we don’t need prescription (although you have to answer a few questions), i’m sure there is an equivalent where you are! Speak to your doctor!

I already got a spare packet just in case! lol

I was also going to mention the medication soymilk mentions above. I haven’t taken it personally but my friend due on her period on her wedding day and went to the doctors where it was prescribed (we’re in the UK, I’m not sure if it is the same where you are based). I’ve also heard of other friends of friends who have taken it for their weddings. The only condition was that she couldn’t TTC until after her next period, which she wasn’t planning on anyway.

sweetblessings56 :  I got on the pill just to make sure I wouldn’t be on my period when I went to Mexico last year as i was due to start it while there. I skipped my placebos and went straight to the next round of pills and it worked like a charm!
