Hi Bees! My first post (although I’ve been a lurker for years, haha!) We just got engaged last night! Together we picked out a non-traditional diamond engagement set from Alexis Russell. It’s a shield-cut, salt & pepper diamond solitaire. The seven diamond arc below will by my wedding band. I’m so in love! (also with my FI)
(please excuse my peeling nails!)
Show me your alternative cuts, gemstones, settings! Lets have some love for alternative styles!

vertabella : That’s exceptional! Stunning! modern but still soft. I’d never heard of salt and pepper diamonds but what a nice twist on the original!

vertabella : LOVE your ring! Is a salt and pepper diamond the same as a grey diamond? I would love to have one someday.

mrsrobertshoe : your sapphire is so beautiful! I love the geometric/floral look of the setting too!
leonatigra : thank you! I love the vintage, but modern vibe!
j9marie : yes, I tihnk so! I think they are called grary if they are more opaque, and salt and pepper if they are more clear?
MsBeer : thank you! it took us a long time to find something that would fit our personality!

vertabella : Wow that is stunning! How’s the light return/sparkle on a salt and pepper? Could you upload a video for us curious bees if you have time?
Congratulations on your engagement, too!

Love, love, love!! I’m still waiting, but I went with Digby & Iona, and seriously considered a salt and pepper, before going with a 150 year old OEC that has tons of inclusions. I can’t wait 😉

marriedalready69 : thank you! I’ve heard of rutilated quartz, but never diamond! Time to google 🙂
FutureDrAtkins : I’ll try to attach a video that my jeweler sent of just the stone, if I can figure out how to do that!
Ukulele4You : I love your ring! It is a shield cut diamond.
Joyful2019 : I absolutely am in LOVE with D&I, I almost chose the Nico ring from them, but decided I wanted a solitaire instead of a three-stone. Please post a pic when you have your beauty!
