I just got home from a great interview for a position I can really see myself in long term. Right now I work 3 part time jobs, and the prospect of only 1 to deal with is attractive for sure. It would be a pay cut of a few thousand a year, but no more overtime or overnight hours, and it would be a career and not just a job. I know I have a shot, since the lady who interviewed me had me do a second interview with another staff member and told me it was because our portion of the interview went so well. The only drawback is the hour long commute, but one of my jobs isn’t much closer. This just seems like a great fit and I really hope it works out!

lovelee1: MsGinkgo: Kacie209: craigslistgirl: TaraMay_: thank you all! I’m a little bummed that Fiance doesn’t seem more excited. He thinks the pay is low (which, social services, so of course it’s low, lol) and the slight pay cut isn’t worth it. But, right now I’m an overnight nanny, and that’s my most lucrative job out of the three. It’s not sustainable, you know? I can’t be an overnight nanny for the next 40 years until retirement. It’s a fact that I have a pretty sweet gig. But when this ends, I won’t have a career or more experience in my field or something to look good on my resume. This job is the better move because it’s a viable long term option that could lead to some thing even better. The only hitch is that there are two open positions, and one is temporary. It would be a gamble to take it and risk being unemployed, but otoh that new type of experience could open up other doors.
