I’m not an expert but I do believe that’s normal.

Can’t wait to see pics πŸ™‚

@7monthbride:  Hmm a half inch seem a bit odd, but I could be wrong.  Give the seamstress a call just to put your mind at ease.

Yep. It’s normal. You don’t see them unless you inspect the dress, so it’s all good!

Glad you’re feeling better about your dress πŸ™‚

If the thread loops you’re talking about are the type that you would attach parts of the train to, in order to get it up and out of the way, then yes, those loops are completely normal, and need to be there– otherwise you’d have your train dragging behind you the entire day, or would have to pin it up. Thread loops (made of thread neatly made into a sort of knitted-looking cord) are very common on nicer/couture clothing, as a way to modify the shape by holding parts of the garment up, or as belt loops.

If the thread loops are just random bits of sewing thread sloppily left there from securing the bustle points, or pulled thread from the fabric sticking out, then that’s not normal and you need to take it back to the seamstress and have her fix those. Can you post a picture soon? That would help us figure out exactly what you mean– thanks! πŸ™‚
