It’s really not that major in the grand scheme of things, but I had arranged for the girls to get mani/pedis done the Thursday and Friday before the wedding (because that’s how I had to do it for everyone to be seen), which is something I wanted to treat my bridesmaids/mothers with (I’m paying for everyone’s appointment).
I had corresponded with the owner of the salon/spa and we both worked out a time schedule for each girls appointment, set up by pairs, so they each had someone to go to the appointment with.
This was back in March and I even sent another email saying:
“Just checking in to find out if the appts for June are a go. Let me know if it looks like the reservations will work. Thanks!”
..and the owner replied “Yes! Will get you a schedule on Monday. Thanks.” <—-this was the last message I received from her, and since her previous response to this one was also very much in the affirmative that the schedule would work, I assumed we were good to go. I even told each of my girls when their appointment was and who their mani/pedi buddy was. Everyone was happy. Great, good…
Well, I figured since she never did get back to me like she said she would I would follow up with her to make sure everything was good and see if she needed anything else from me, and lo and behold…
All of your appointments are scheduled, but I had to make some changes and have scheduled them all for Thursday, June 9th. I hope this is not a problem. I listed the scheduled below for your review and confirmation. Let me know. Thanks.”
And I just now responded:
“Oh dear, that’s really not going to work…I have my final dress fitting that morning with L and then that evening is the only opportunity for my bridal shower so E, V, M and B need to be the ones to be seen Thursday morning to be able to set everything up for the shower that afternoon.
I copied this into the original email thread so below is the original arrangement that you said should work. I had already told each of my girls when their appointment is based on your response. Did you double book? Are the times below no longer available? Is there anyway we can make this work at all with the original times we discussed?
I assume she forgot to actually mark everything down on the schedule and has now already gotten booked up with other clients for the times we had previously agreed on for each of my girls. I am livid, and I hope I get a response back with a schedule that works for me. I’m already on such a tight schedule as it is!! Did you note that MY FINAL DRESS FITTING IS THE THURSDAY BEFORE MY SATURDAY WEDDING? Yes, I am not happy with her lack of ability to write a few simple names on her damn calendar!!
I really need to vent that out and had no where else to do it at the moment. Thank you for reading my first emotional post. 🙂
