The sugar cravings will go away. If you’re having trouble, I definitely advise fruit – natural sugar is way better for you than anything processed, and it gives your body so many other nutrients. I always try to carry at least 1 piece of fruit with me at all times (today, I brought a clementine and an apple to work and set them on my desk).

Also, if you can ditch the soda entirely it’d be even better for you! Stick to tea and water – if you want flavor, try Mio or even just a few slices of lemon/lime. I used to drink no water whatsoever and now I drink 80+ ounces a day and find myself craving it above all other beverages.

I tried WW but couldn’t deal with the point system. I need to know exact details (calories, nutrients, etc.) so I switched to MyFitnessPal. But I imagine that so long as you aren’t feeling hungry, you’re fine to have a couple of points leftover. Right now, I’m trying for 1,350 calories a day, but sometimes I get to 1,200 and stop because I don’t want anything else.

I think it’s fine to have points left over as long as you feel satisfied and aren’t depriving yourself such that you’ll end up bingeing later.

one of my BF’s does WW and she said it is not good to have points left over, and if you are eating 2 servings of fruit and veggies with every meal you may be overdoing it on the fruit, I know they are zero points but they have natural sugars in them. I see the points as the minimum you are supposed to eat in a day hence the flex points for when you want to eat more. (but I do not think 2 or 3 is a HUGE deal dont have like 5+ as that could be an entire meal)

I am trying to do it, I get 29 points a day and have the point calculator, I just feel like it’s a pain, I use Myfitness pal too abd I like it, just counting calories, I write everything down and enter it when i have the time.

WW is more about portion control

I am on Weight Watchers online and used to do meetings.  The leader used to say, you absolutely need to eat all of your points every day.  If you don’t, you will slow down your weight loss progress.

Officially signed up for Weight Watchers today with my mom. I though I eat really healthy as is, but much to my surprise by lunch I have used up 19 of my 26 points! Ouch!

I’m on WW and I love Points Plus.  I would talk to your leader about your points.  Typically when you’re starting out they’ll tell you that you need to eat all your points each day but that the weekly allowance and activity points are up to you.  If you’ve been in the program a couple months and are feeling like you can do just fine with a few less points the leader will typically change it for you as part of the PointsPlus 2012 update.  PM me if you have any questions.  I’d never done any programs or diets before 2010 when I started WW before my wedding and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.  I hope you enjoy it!

@mandigrl04:  Oh wow, 3.5 lbs in one week is awesome! And yes, there are so many “hidden” calories and such I wasn’t noticing! For today I did some pretty easy substitutions, sugar for splenda in my coffee, switched to balsamic vinegar on my salad instead of Italian dressing, etc, and I hoping it will be minimally painful but still effective! Yesterday was a bad day because I have a potluck dinner with work, so I used a fair amount of anytime points, but I am hoping to try to avoid using them in the future.

It’s funny, I signed up for it more to help motivate my mother, because her eating habits are not the best, but I have been shocked at mine as well! I have about 15 lbs that I would like to lose, so hopefully I can pull that off in the few months I have left before dress fittings!

I rejoined WW this past Sunday. I lost 75 pounds before on it but gradually gained back 40 over six years, a new relationship and a baby. Program is way different than 6 years ago but my scale says I lost 4 lbs so far this week(couldn’t refrain). You really do have to use all your daily points. It keeps your metabolism high. You’ll notice later on if you get a little stuck, dipping into those anytime points can make you lose alot because it gets your metabolism guessing. I would watch your fruit intake and add a light string cheese to hit your points allowance. I love WW and hope it gets my dress zipped quickly. lol I want to make Lifetime this go around so all I have to do is stay within a couple ponds and it is free meetings for life!
