Hi bees, I am a newbee here but I am just so excited and I have to share! I just ordered my ring this morning from Gemvara and I am already dying. I just can’t wait to wear it! I know it’s not very traditional to have ordered my own ring, but then, my girlfriend and I aren’t very traditional. Here’s the ring I’m getting (sorry for the size):
It’s the Embrace ring in 14k white gold with an aquamarine (my birthstone). I’m getting it engraved in Hebrew with

כי אל-אשר תלכי אלך

which is a quote from the Book of Ruth meaning “wherever you go, I will go.” And just for the record, here’s my girlfriend’s ring:
It’s sterling silver with a 1 ct rough diamond (her birthstone) and a tiny rough blue diamond.
Now the long and painful months of waiting to wear my beautiful ring begin! How did/do all of you cope???

uponthewaters: I love the biblical quotes! To me, it makes the symbolism that much more meaningful. Ruth is such a great story. Both rings are beautiful! I love aquamarine. It is my daughter’s birthstone, and I really want a right hand ring with one!
My husbands ring actually has an overlay that says in Hebrew “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.” I used to have a matching ring, but I lost it

I am totally in the same boat!!!
I had a new e-ring instead of an eternity band and I’m awaiting!! We paid it off over MONTHS…… Then there’s waiting for it to be made & posted.
We are in Australia and it’s from the US!
It was posted 2 weeks ago and got returned to sender (I was heartbroken), then she posted it again last Monday – So any day now & the anticipation is killing me!!
Ive had pics sent which helped… Patience isn’t my thing but I’m being forced to 🙁

This is the Gemvara ring I want, except in SS with an aquamarine. I love Gemvara> They have such neat stuff!

Bridey77: Oh, I love that quote! I thought of getting that one first but we eventually decided on Ruth instead (bonus points for being between two women!). I absolutely love your rings in that picture, they’re all beautiful and arranged so perfectly! Love the Gemvara one too– I spent probably over a week combing through every ring on that site, and I’m pretty sure I fell in love with all of them. How old is your daughter, if I may ask?
Toots83: Oh no, I hear ya, sister! Fingers crossed that it gets there soon!

uponthewaters: She’s 17. Not a baby, but always my baby

uponthewaters: Gorgeous rings! I hope the wait isn’t too bad for you, but I totally get the anticipation. My girlfriend and I have had our rings for nearly 6 months now and I’m waiting for her proposal. At first the waiting was awful! Now I’ve just started relaxing in knowing the fact that it’s coming and that we’ll be together. 🙂
Are you guys getting engaged as soon as they arrive? Or do you have other plans?
I love the addition of the quote from Ruth. It’s one of my very favorite bibilical quotes.
AND I have to add- We picked out the rings we wanted as well! We ended up choosing two antique diamond rings off of Etsy. Keep us posted, it’s fun seeing updates from other Bees in a similar boat as me. 😀

peaceoutshannon: Yay, it’s good to know I’m not the only one! I hope your gf proposes soon, I’d love to see pictures.
She’s going to propose to me (we decided ages ago, haha) so I honestly don’t know when it’ll happen! My guess is that it will be a number of months though. Already hating the wait… I don’t know how you’ve lasted so long!
Do your rings match? Ours obviously look very different, haha. I’m hoping it won’t look too weird or anything… I couldn’t really find much on getting rings for two ladies, so we just picked out what we each wanted. No regrets, of course :).

uponthewaters: I apologize- I just saw this! I hope she does too! I’ve been told it’ll happen this fall now for sure, so I guess it’s just a matter of anytime this next couple of months! I’ll make sure to post pictures when it happens. Also I have to add that we recently moved in together and it’s been almost impossible to keep our rings out of sight/out of mind. Ah!
It sounds weird but just knowing it’s coming and a definite thing will help the wait. I can’t wait to hear what she’s come up with. 🙂 She must have something in mind! How long have you two been together?
Our match in just a few ways. They’re both three stone, white gold, and the same TCW. Besides that they are very different in their settings. Mine was designed in the late 20’s and hers is more likely from the early 40’s. It’s fun because they suit each of us in the ways that they’re different but go together in the ways that they’re the same.
I actually sat on the internet for days searching for articles or blogs or tips on the ring search for same sex partners and didn’t find much at all. A bit of a bummer, but then we just realized it was as simple as picking something we each liked. So kind of the same conclusion it sounds like you two came to.
