- Wedding: Hawksnest Cove Beach St John USVI
This year Darling Husband is getting 9 gifts but many of them are small. I try and mix things he needs (new shave set) and things he would love (Yankees ear buds), and something sentimental (heart shaped map of important places).
Hes wrapped 13 presents for me and I think they’re all small but meaningful. I tried not to overspend since we are prepping for our anniversary trip in Feb.

Worried9887: It was! For the days that I didn’t have a set of things, I made however many cookies, which worked out very well. Since he had some music cds but not others, I could give him CD #7 out ot a numbered series too. Using candy canes or cookies for larger #’s kept the costs lower. By the 3rd night he would come home and say, oh I must be getting X number of gifts tonight, right? It was cute!! After being married for over 30 years, it is sometimes hard to come up with a good gift, or surprise. This definitely made it fun!

We don’t do gifts, we just go out for dinner or go on a holiday together.

Worried9887: This is our first Christmas with our puppy and he has his own stocking! pup just turned one at the start of the month and got a HEAP of presents then, so he won’t get as much for Christmas because there’s nothing else he needs. Instead I have put together two hampers, one full of dog products which I am donating to a local dog rescue, and one full of cat products which I am donating to a local cat rescue. Fi and I aren’t even doing gifts this year, we’re going to put the money into our honeymoon or something new for our house when the build is complete.
