I’m headed home next week for the first time since the wedding (9 months!) and it’s past due time for me to preserve and keep my dress. I know many say "My daughter will never wear it", but I *was* married in my mom’s dress, so maybe there is a chance my daughter will want to be as well! Either way I’m planning on becoming the official "wedding dress historian" of the family and keeping all of the family dresses I can get my hands on. So far I have my mother’s mothers, my mothers, and now mine.
Anyways, I’m just feeling nervous about the idea of sending it off (what if it gets lost? what if they spill something on it and ruin it?) I’m using http://www.affordablepreservation.com/ and of course I’ll be documenting and writing about the experience for others who aren’t sure what to do about their gown.
Did you preserve your gown?
