I’m very excited because my doctor just prescribed Clomid treatment which gives me lots of hope!
I have PCOS. I’m 31 and 25lbs overweight, but I’m losing weight weekly with weight watchers and exercise.
My doctor instructed me to take Clomid on day 4-8 of my next period, and then on day 15 I’m supposed to take Duphastan which is for low progesterone I think.
Are the side effects doubled up when taking both of these meds rather than just Clomid?
Should I take Robitussun and drink grapefruit juice to help with my cervical mucas? I hear Clomid can affect C.M.
If I should do that, which day of my cycle do I start?
Also, Duphastan was discontinued in the States and UK…should I be worried? I’m in Greece, but my doctor is extremely respected. He is the head of the best private hospital here and he has gotten many women pregnant who have had fertility issues.
Thanks bees! Baby dust to all!

I’ve never heard of Duphastan so I can’t answer you there, however if you are unsure of what it does, you should ask your doctor.
As far as the clomid goes, you generally O 5-10 days after your last pill. I think 10 days is more common. I would make sure you track your BBT to confirm ovulation, as some don’t ovulate even with Clomid.
Clomid does dry up your CM, so I would start taking plain guaifenesin (Mucinex) along with the grapefruit juice if you can around day 12 and continue until you’ve confirmed ovulation.
My concern would be taking the Duphastan on day 15 if you say it’s a form of progesterone. IF you have not O’d by day 15, it could possibly prevent ovulation from occurring. I would hope your doctor would know that though.
Good luck!

@Yellow.Clover: Thanks! I just googled it and I read a doctor’s article saying Duphaston does not get in the way of ovulation, but I’ll still ask my doctor about it.
I will basal body temp during the cycle as well to keep track and see if I am indeed ovulating.
Thanks very much!

@Yellow.Clover: I appreciate that! I haven’t been on the bee in a while, but I always remembered how kind everyone is here. 🙂
