@Amy43026:  The first estimate I received for my bouquet, two Maid/Matron of Honor bouquets, four BM’s bouquets, two junior bridesmaids’ bouquets, a flower-girl’s pomander, two large arrangements for the altar area during the ceremony, six very tiny arrangements in mint-julip cups to hang on ends of the first three rows of chairs on both sides of the aisle for the ceremony, plus boutonnieres for the men and corsages for both mothers, 11 regular centerpieces, four elevated centerpieces, a cake topper of peonies, and rental of urns and vases for the large and elevated arrangements, and floating candles for the fountain at the reception, was more than $5,000.  I then talked with a different floral designer, and she was able to get the pricing down to a little more than $3,500.  Since your estimate is in that range, and you have 28 centerpieces, it sounds  reasonable to me.

Oh honey I’m so sorry, that’s something the wedding world doesn’t tell you often: Flowers are freakenly EXPENSIVE. My estimate (only for centerpieces) was so high I decided against flowers.

I hope you find a good deal.

I would agree that this is a reasonable estimate. My estimate was 6,000 and I am getting not quite double what you are asking for, so it seems on par with what I have found …

@Amy43026: Ours was $1,500 and the flowers were an assortment of sunflowers, finesse roses, gerbera daisies, ranunculus, and other assorted wildflowers.

-my bouquet + 2 bridesmaid’s + 8 bouts + flowers for the moms

-12 centerpieces

-2 large ceremony sprays

Your estimate doesn’t sound too far off. Flowers are expensive.

$4,100 total….

175 my bouquet

75/ea bm bouquet

85/ea centerpiece

10/ea bouts

100/ea church alter arrangements

150/ea heart wreaths

300 100 peonies for cake table

100 mad amout of petals

200 delivery and set up.

This was the cheapest that I found in the San Francisco area for the amount of peonies that we want. At first my budget was $3,000 and I practically got laughed at. And this price doesn’t include vases because I’m looking for vintage ones.

oh, wow, I’m so sorry to hear how much of a shock that was for you! I had a lady I know how has her own company and buys flowers wholesale do my flowers, so I never had to deal with regular florists. BUT…since this is such a shock to you, I would bet that a huge part of that is coming from the centerpieces… maybe you could consider something simpler? (vases from the dollar store, simple floating flowers or candles, etc.)

I’m also getting roses and hydrangeas with a few delphinium tossed in the mix. I have about the same number of everything but add in flowers for aisle/cake, and reduce to about 20 centerpieces.  My quote was for $4200, but of that $600 was for a chuppah so the price without that is $3600.  I think that the quote you received is pretty much dead on, especially since hydrangeas will be out of season.

I was the same way, flowers are expensive. I will provide vases while florists will provide flowers, and my flower girls won’t have real flower pomanders, they’ll have fake one’s, they’re little girls, flower pomanders won’t last with them. Everyone else will have flowers, 5 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen, 1 dad, 1 groomsen, 16 tables, my total about $1500. I’m having candela open roses for my bouquet and ivory hydrangeous with pink stock for my centepieces.

My Bouquet will be vendela open roses

I thought that estimate was high until I saw how many centrepieces you are having. Is there any way to do one per table?

Our flowers are going to be $675 which includes: 12 centrepieces, bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaids, 4 bouts,

Flowers are expensive and 28 centerpieces will do that to you.  Maybe try to reduce the number of centerpieces? I’ve found some really creative ways to use candles and reduce the floral centerpieces I’m using by over half, so there are ways to make it work!  Good luck – your wedding will still be beautiful!

@Amy43026: Yea the 28 centerpieces are whats screwing you up..usually they run between $40-$150 each.
