Hi ladies! I just reserved our ceremony location and am feeling a little “iffy” about it! It’s a completely GORGEOUS location, and I consider myself lucky that I could get a time slot there (the first wedding of the day, even better!) for my day!
- It’s inside (to beat the July heat in Midwest)
- It’s a flower place (See Below)
- The chairs are included in rental
- I got it for $400 off the rental price because it’s under 1 year out
- It’s still $600 for 1 1/2 hour slot. (We’re on a budget)
- It’s about 1 hour 20 min away from Reception site. (More detail: We get keys to reception site at 9AM. Ceremony time slot is 12pm-1:30pm, thus creating a time predicament)
- Street Parking only (for 100 people?!?!?!!?!?!?! and I know some may not come, but this is like a “top notch” wedding facility here, so more than the estimated 60% may come!!)
I dunno! I really love the pros, but part of me is still worried about money and time! I haven’t paid yet, so I can still back out!

Wow, it’s 1 hour 20 minutes from reception site? I don’t know if too many people are going to show up to your reception! Can you change the reception site?

Yeah, Its a big concern. If our ceremony is at 12:45, we were thinking about having a gap between and probably starting reception at 4:30.
We’re booked completely into our reception site (and it’s the only place I won’t consider changing).
Is a gap too inconsiderate? Most people live closer to reception than the ceremony site, anyways. (well, my fam. is closer to ceremony, his fam is close to reception)

of all those facts you listed, i think the only think that matters is that it is almost an hour and a half away from your reception site. that’s significant- especially if people are already traveling to be there.

Yea, I also think an hour and a half may be too much, plus street parking only issue, plus your budget issue, plus your time crunch issue?
Are there any places closer to your reception venue that maybe you don’t love SO much but will be a little more feasible?
Although the picture is absolutely beautiful and I can see why you want to get married there.

Can you get a shuttle bus? I know you are on a budget, but it might help resolve the parking and distance issues. An hour and twenty minutes seems really long, sorry. It is beautiful.

That’s really far from the reception. Can you afford to book a shuttle or something so you know people will go to both?

I think we’re going to keep it and recommend things to do in the lull time. His family lives near reception, and mine lives near ceremony, so I can guarantee his fam will goto reception. The only ones I know that won’t attend reception is my g-parents. But that’s ok!
We can’t really afford a shuttle bus. The guestlist is pretty much all very close family. Not that it makes any difference, It’s really only about one hour away (I drove it yesterday )

@M.Ruder: Then if it works for you and your people, go for it! It looks really pretty.
