Love this thread! I love seeing where everyone else is at, and I love the solidarity – I’m not the only one planning the biggest party of my life! haha
So far we have booked and made deposits on the DJ, officiant, florist, and Venue. I have a very good friend who is EXTREMELY talented and has very generously gifted her photography to us. This is a huge blessing. I always wanted to hire her anyway but she was way out of our price range. We are meeting tonight with a vendor who does FlipBooks (kind of similar to a photobooth) and will more than likely be booking them. I still have to book a baker and caterer, but we know what we want from both so that shouldn’t be too hard.
We have most of the details planned, now it is just about execution. We have our colors and a theme in place – our invites are picked out, waiting to be ordered, and I just ordered 2 STD samples. I plan to buy them in bulk next week and have sent out by the beginning of February. (about 50% of our guest list is Out of Town… or out of country, even, so we want to give them plenty of notice!)
In March my bridesmaids and I are going dress shopping for them. I already have my dress.
I need to start collecting materials for a lot of the DIY stuff I am doing – placecards, centerpieces, table numbers, favors, guestbook etc. Fiance and I are in the process of buying a house so I am waiting until we get settled to buy all of that – I don’t want to misplace anything in the move.
We also (just yesterday) started discussing a quasi-joint stag party in Vegas with our Bridesmaid or Best Man and Maid/Matron of Honor, but nothing is set in stone.
