- Wedding: October 2013
So I just got engaged a short while ago, but my Fiance said he wants to aim for a spring 2013 wedding, so I’ve gone into full planning mode to try and make that happen. If we can’t secure a venue for then (I think it would be a challenge to find any openings with 8 mos. to go) we would do a fall 2013 wedding.
Anyway, I found a beautiful venue in MD that for $2,000 includes tables, Chivari chairs, mansion setup, day-of coordinator, linens, you get the idea. They have in-house catering, which for 100 people would bring the total to around $9,000 (FOOD IS EXPENSIVE, WTF). Then, all that would be left to pay for would be flowers, attire, music, and photography. (As I’m typing this I’m realizing those are really expensive, too).
Or, I’m contemplating doing a cruise wedding, and getting married at one of the ports of call. I saw that Carnival does wedding cruise packages, and they seem pretty affordable. I wanted a smaller wedding anyway, so this might help keep the numbers down. Plus, my Fiance has always said a Destination Wedding would be great.
I’m just really torn – both seem like great wedding choices. So bees, has anyone else done the cruise wedding? Or was it really worth paying $10,000+ to get married locally? How did you decide?
