OK, I took an opk yesterday and it was very light… I took one today and it was barely if even noticeable at all…. I was wondering if opks get gradually lighter after you ovulate… Just like they get gradually darker the closet to your o.. So maybe I just missed my o?

amberjayjay: What time did you take the one yesterday? Soon as I start to get a light indication I then increase the testing frequency. You therefore probably ovulated between taking the two tests. I’ve taken up to 4 tests a day to catch O.

They don’t necessarily get progessively darker. I’ve had very light ones and a positive the next day.

I don’t have a source to cite – but I know I read somewhere that it also depends on the concentration of the hormone in your urine. If I remember right, the hormone production peaks around 1pm so FMU vs afternoon vs evening urine would have different concentrations.
