kelsie5388:  It really depends on how you want to approach TTC and what your sense of urgency is.  If you’re not in a rush, you can just do the obvious thing ๐Ÿ™‚ a lot, and see how it goes!

If you want to take a more controlled approach, I highly recommend (as will most others well versed in TTC) reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility to start.  It explains your cycles, why your body does what it does throughout your cycle, and how to chart (if you so choose).  Even if you don’t want to chart, I think it’s really helpful to understand what’s going on with your body.

kelsie5388:  Yay! We just started TTC last month… exciting times!

Since I’m also a newbie to this… I started taking prentals months ago, but have read that you can start taking them anytime while TTC (but better before). Start charting, and taking temps in the morning. After month #1, I know a little bit more of signs to look for when I’m fertile and about to ovulate… and hoping for success this month… or on to Month #3.

+1 with Taking Charge of Your Fertility – my SIL gave me her book and it really opened my eyes to a lot of female related stuff that I had no idea about. I wish I would have read it YEARS ago, and understood a little bit more about getting pregnant and when it actually can happen during your cycle, among MANY other things in the book.

We’re not really trying, but we’re not really preventing either. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰ I started taking prenatels a few months ago, and I’ve been cutting back on my alcohol during my two week wait. My doc said to cut out alcohol entirely for the entire month, but I’m not sure if I’m totally on board with that yet. Otherwise I am living life as normal. I’m the type of person who is a type A person. If I started charting, etc. I knew I’d get overly obssessed with it. I want it to be a “normal” thing and see if it happens. I don’t want to be like “oh yeah honey let’s have sex because I’m ovulating” lol kills the mood I kinda think. I do know my body somewhat so I’m not totally blind. This was our first month not preventing…to say the least, I am ANXIOUS to pee on a stick!! Good luck! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Welcome! I’m new too! It’s trial and error for temping right now.

I really enjoyed charting because I had just come off the pill and wanted to ensure I was actually ovulating and what I could expect my cycles to look like. I also agree with reading the book, or even the mini lessons that come with the Fertility Friend app. Good luck!!

We’re just starting too!

I read Taking Charge of your Fertility and found it super helpful- So much info about what is going on with your body! Even if you don’t want to chart or use fertility awareness for preventing or acheiving pregnancy, it is still really good to know how and why everything’s happening.

I’m taking prenatals with folic acid and dha, and I did start temping just to get in the habit/try and see if my cycles are normalizing after coming off implanon. We’re not in a rush though so we’re just going with the flow and seeing what happens now that we are not preventing!

Good luck to you!

I’m brand new too!! I have been off BC since August. I have been taking prenatals for a couple months as well. at the start of this cycle I started using OPKs but since I tend to have ocd like tendencies it was just too stressful. Lol I have now just been checking my cm and im pretty sure I’m still in the dark about if I’m checking that right! I guess I will just have to see how it works this cycle. My cycles are all wonky after stopping BC so I don’t even know when and if im ovulating. Good luck to you!

I am also going to buy that book.

Hello bee!

Hubby and I started after our October wedding so I am new to everything as well. Our wedding night was actually my ovulation day. Just yesterday I started getting light brown spotting. I am suppose to get my period the 26th… Been reading that it can possibly be implantation bleeding.
