Hey All! We are planning to get married in Colorado in late May. It will be just the two of us and an officiant. However, we want to have a ceremony. We would love for it to be snowing; however, that’s totally hit or miss as all Colorado weather is. Essentially we have purchased plane tickets, rings, and our attire (formal even though just us). Things we need recs for are:
What mountain town/area: We LOVE Breck for its downtown charm, but anywhere
Lodging: Anything mountain-esque and classy. Fireplace in our room. Like the full amenities of a resort or larger hotel.
Helicopter rental/charter: It seems a little insane, but an idea that we had is to have a helicopter drop us off on a mountain top and do the ceremony there. It would only take a few hours total for the helicopter pick us (groom, bride, officiant & photographer) up, drop us off, pick us back up and return to airport. This fits our personalities so well. We want gorgeous views (talk about once in a lifetime) and snow. This can be done with a helo any time of the year in Co.
Photographer: Photos are one of the most important things to us. It’s pretty much second only to us getting married. We plan to announce our marriage to family & friends through the photos, so we would like to cover the full story of the day. With that said, I know that beginning/on-the-side photographers do amazing work. I’m not afraid to use a beginner by any means as long as I have samples to see.
Any advice or info about these areas, planned eloping, telling family/friends after the fact or anything you feel would be helpful is hugely appreciated!
