It really sucks when the majority of my wedding was perfect and then to get the pictures back and they didn’t catch most of it.
I waited awhile (like a week or two) after we received the pics to write her but her response made me think about things and somewhat realize that even she doesn’t think it’s her best work.

Really?? That’s a bummer! I see you live in The Colony. I’m in Dallas. Who was your photographer??

@kaiangel6: I’m sorry 🙁 The pictures are one of the most important elements of the wedding for us and where we are spending most of our money (we are eloping and our venue will cost the same as our photo package). I can understand how disappointed you are, especially because your photog agrees! Will she compensate you in any way (perhaps some money back, or an additional photo shoot so you guys can get some more pictures)?

I’m in the DFW area also…curious who you used as your photographer? Sorry about your pictures…is there any way she can refund part of what you paid? I think that’s fair since she didn’t capture all the details.

@kaiangel6: We are in The Colony/Plano as well…I really want to know who it was!

Also in Dallas and looking into photographers. Would love to know who this photagrapher is. I’m so sorry that happened. I would be so upset to have spent all that money and be disappointed. I would suggest talking to your photagrapher to see if you can get a free day after session or something. It won’t bring back all the memories with your family that were missed, but it’s at least something.

@kaiangel6: Can you explain more specifically what you didn’t like about them/what they were missing?

@kimmo416: It was Jimmages – Jacki Miller. When I spoke with her during our consult she seemed like she understood what I wanted which was getting ready, ceremony, detail work, and such. I don’t really like super tradtional pictures and she seemed on board with that. But the pictures don’t reflect it at all. I’ve seen her other work and it was really pretty but I’m just not seeing that in ours at all. I’ve been keeping an eye on her website and facebook and she’s really good about putting other couples pics in and such and not a single one of ours is on there. Which made me realize that she doesn’t think it’s her best work either so it’s not on any of her promotional stuff. Just sucks because I thought her and I had a clear understanding of what I wanted.
@mariematt: There are no close ups (or reallly anything above the knee) in the actual ceremony/first kiss/first dance. Most things were shot from below which gave really bad angles. We were in a hotel “ballroom” and I had told her I wasn’t super excited about the pics looking like they were in a hotel and she had said “no problem, I will shoot things to cut all the hotel details out” but then we have a bajillion pics of the ceiling. There are no pics of the guys getting ready in their suits, only one of each of my girls walking down the aisle, stuff like that.

@kaiangel6: uggh that is so frustrating. Should you guys decide to give it another go in the form of maybe a shoot with just the two of you in your wedding attire (to get some close ups), let me know: I have a friend who is a pro photog in The Colony that I’ve been impressed with.

I went to her website. It’s a nice one. And the pictures do look nice. So yeah, I can understand why you’d be uspet if yours aren’t up to par. I’m really sorry! I know there’s no going back and re-doing but hopefully there are some in the bunch you can pick out and frame.
Just try to not let it bother you too much and enjoy your new life as a married gal!!! Congratulations!
