I would really like to share how I got my very perfect shoes because I am so exited! Being a flight attendant, I travel all over the world. About two months ago, I had a flight to Toronto. I went shopping there and found the most perfect wedding shoes, but my size was not available anymore. The girl in the shop said she could order them for me, but I only had 2 days in Toronto. I figured I would find something else and went on. However, 3 weeks later I was still thinking about those shoes. So I tried my friend google and found the shoes online, however, the website also stated that my size was no longer available. So I called the Toronto shop (Spring Shoes) and asked if this meant that they were absolutely unavailable. The girl on the phone explained that this probably meant that there were only a few pairs left and checked the system. Then she told me 2 shops might still have the shoes.
I then started calling these shops and ended up calling about half of Canada AND Quebec (Haha) untill finally the shop in Westminister BC told me they had them. The guy on the phone asked me how I was planning on getting them, as shipping was only done within Canada. I told him I am a flight attendant and so is one of my friends, who would be flying to Calgary in 3 weeks. The lovely Ken told me they usually only keep shoes on hold for just 1 day, but since they were for my wedding, he wanted to help me out. Since my name is quite difficult for non Dutch people, he just wrote down European girl 🙂
I started stalking our planning&assignment department and they gave me 2 Toronto flights. So I instantly called the shop in Westminister again and the girl on the phone assured me they still had the shoes. She laughed and told me not to worry, they all knew what the deal whas with these shoes, ‘Don’t put them away, they are for this special girl form the Netherlands’. I told her I would be flying to Canada on the 26th and she took care of the rest.
So last monday, after arriving at the crewhotel, I just threw my uniform on the bed and ran to the Eaton Mall. In the shop they did not understand my name (again) but then I said ‘from the Netherlands’ and the girl instantly knew which shoes I meant and got them out. And there they were, my perfect perfect shoes! They are flat, as I am getting married on a beach and have this perfect pearly glow. And the best part, they only cost $ 30,-!!!! They fit perfectly and I told the girl I could just kiss her, she looked so shocked hahaha!
So I just wanted to let you know how much I love Canadian people, everyone has been so nice in helping me get my shoes. If any Canadian brides were to read this, especially from Westminister BC and you visit the Spring Shoes shop, let them know how much I appreciate their help and that they are the very best!
