So, first of all, me and my Fiance have decided that there’s no way that we would be able to afford the wedding that we truly want. And if we tried, it wouldn’t be until 2016-17, and I CANNOT wait that long! lol. So we decided that we’re going to go to the Justice of the Peace (in Pittsburgh, PA) and then have a “dinner” “reception” up in Cranberry, PA at the Bravo! Italian resturant up there. I still have to call and ask them all I can do/bring, but it works out because it’s splitting distnace travel between both families and Bravo! is where we had our first date (awwe lol).
But I just have some questions regarding the Justice of the Peace. My Maid/Matron of Honor told me that some of them would be willing to go outside instead of being in the courthouse? Is that true? And also, I know there’s like a 3 day wait or something for the license. So we want to get married June 21, 2014. Should we apply for our marriage license 3 days before then or will it still count on June 21st if we wait till then?
Any other input on this would be most helpful!!

@Caila: You should apply for your license BEFORE 3 days before June 21, just to be sure that you have it in time for June 21. Marriage laws depend on the state, but it looks like for PA you can apply for the marriage license between 3 and 60 days before the ceremony.

@jerzepi: Thank you! I figured that would be the case lol. We really want it to be the 21st so now we know! =D

Yes, many Justice of the Peace will go to wherever you want. There may or may not be a fee for this. My husband and I were Justice of the Peace married in our home next to our christmas tree. All you need to do is call up and ask to schedule something wherever you want to get married.
You’ll want to get your license before you get married. Here in Oklahoma, we applied 5 days before, we had something like 30 days to get married and then we had to resubmit it to the courthouse for recording no more than 3 days after it happened.
We also had a really nice JoP wedding, our JoP was awesome and made me vow to let things go and made my husband vow to protect me in a zombie apocalypse. Pretty sweet. Congrats!

@Hyperventilate: Hahah! That’s amazing! If the JoP here will be willing to go outside, there’s a giant park area that will let us rent their gazboo/pond for 4 hours for $45. Not that we would need all 4 hours.
