I was bitten by the moissanite bug lately. I’ve just bought a cheap one from eBay, and now I want to have a better one.
I really would like to have an antique cushion cut, and as far as I know only Schubach jewellers and JYB jewels are offering this cut.
I inquired for prices at both vendors, and JYB jewels was better with prices.
Does someone have experience with them? They have an Etsy shop, and Jules was quite quickly with answering my questions, so I had a good first impression.
Unfortunately I can’t order from both, because I’m located in Europe and I have to pay 20 % VAT for every imported item, so order and return the one which I don’t like is not an option for me.
does someone have experience with them?

dkata81 : I do! I trust and would work with either of them. They’re both stellar imo. Good luck and come back and show us what you got!

Unfortunately I have the next problem.
I was considering at first a 9.5*8.5 stone, this would be my sweet spot. The problem is following: I would like to have a “cheap” setting, lets say under 500. Jules told me, it is only possible with the stone size 9*8 mm, because she could order for this size stone a setting from Stuller.
I was considering to order the bigger stone loose, and find a cheap setting somewhere else, but I’m afraid the jewellers don’t have experience with setting a moissanite where I live.
So what should I do? Order the smaller one with setting, or order the bigger one and take the risk, to set it here?
Could someone show me pictures of a 9*8 cushion on size 5 finger?

Check out Overstock. They sell Charles and Colvard at half the price.

notlookingtogetmarried – than you for your advice, but I would like to have an antique cushion cut, and as far as I know C&C doesn’t sell this cut.

I agree with the pp, also sometimes you can find a great moissanite fire deal on Jtv. But read the reviews and hopefully they’ll have a video.

I say go for the 9×8, its such a small difference size wise, you have a little finger AND you get a cheap setting

I wanted to give an update for everyone, who is interested. I’ve got today my ACC from JYB. I placed my order at the end of March, and it is already here today, so it took only 3 weeks! I’m really happy, that it went so quick!
My first impression as I opened the packaging was: its incredible! Really diamond like, and just what I wanted! I have a few diamond rings, and noone would question, if this stone is a diamond, or a moissy!
I have ordered the 9.5×8.5 near colorless. I have snapped a few pictures:
TThe cut is perfect, and the culet as I asked for, small and pointed!

dkata81 : it’s so beautiful! I’m eyeing this stone from JYB (small round culet, approx that size). Did you have it set yet? Once you do, please please post pictures 😄 drooling over here…

Sorry, but it is still not set. I visit the city where the jeweler is located, who is going to set it only every third week, and I’m going to drop it off next week only. I can’t wait also. I would like to have a simple solitaire in WG. It could take another 3 weeks until it’s ready and I visit once more, so altogether at about in one month it’s ready. Of course I’m going to post pictures as soon as it’s ready!!

dkata81 : Hi dkata81,
I’d love to see a picture of your ring. You’re experience was helpful to me in ordering my ACC from JYB! I also have a question. I received my ring several days ago and it is so sparkly that I can’t appreciate the center Maltese cross which is what I really love about the cut. I reached out to Jules and she said a larger culet will allow light to leak out allowing me to see inside the stone more.
I see you’re culet is larger than mine and I’m wondering what your experience is with looking into your stone. Do you just see amazing sparkle or can you see into the center of the stone? I have to decide if I want the culet enlarged.
Thanks in advance!
