I am Canadian and my fiance just filed our I-129f application yesterday through an employment lawyer in the States. So excited! I know it’s a long wait but I’m getting antsy! Anyone been through the process?
I have been hearing about horrible delays and advanced scrutiny recently with the current political climate. Hoping for some good luck!

We decided to skip one of the long waiting periods. 😉 no need to for K1 and then again for the AOS and GK. We used an AILA lawyer.
Waiting/processing periods depend on state and office handling the paperwork. In my state/office the waiting period just dropped from 12-9 month to 6-8 month. No scrutiny and bla bla bla for Canadians and EU citizens with no odd ties according to AILA.

K1 Visa Canadian bride here! My husband and I did our process in 2015. We applied in September 2015 and I moved mid-February 2016. Now I’ve submitted all my paperwork for my 10-year green card and I’m just waiting. It’s a loooooong stressful process but totally worth it. We didn’t use a lawyer. Our case was simple.
Let me know if you have any questions!
