If you upload some of the pictures people might be able to help more- a lot of bees have a really great eye for stones, although unfortunately I’m not one of them!

Has she given you the cut grade of the stone? That would be my main C of the 4.

What color are the baguettes? Is she planning on having diamonds in her wedding band?

I have a J in white gold with side stones. I notice the warmth occasionally. As I’ve been trying on bands, diamond bands can make it seem really warm.

Duckybod :  I notice when in beige rooms. I definitely noticed when in a jewelry store trying on bands with higher color diamonds. Color was my least important C.

This is probably the most warmth I’ve captured on camera, taken in my beige kitchen with no natural light.

I have a j color center stone and I love the color it occasionally shows. If I had known more when diamond shopping I would have possibly looked for even warmer color stones, like K or L, because color doesn’t bother me and the savings is a great bonus! If you aren’t very color sensitive I’d go for it, it looks beautiful!

I have an “H” or “I” color Asscher and I don’t see any significant warmth in it. It does pick up color from nearby objects, but that’s normal for any diamond. You’ve found a beautiful and elegant ring. I say if you love it, go for it. Here’s mine with my milgrain wedding band. Quick note: this ring demands weekly cleaning in order to sparkle; otherwise it looks dull and dirty very quickly. Those chunky facets show EVERYTHING.

Duckybod :  I also have an Asscher, my GIA does not mention cut which I never really thought about until I read your post!

Duckybod :  Thank you for the kind words! The Asscher is 1.11 carats, ring size is 5.5. The width of the engagement ring is 1.9mm (or just a hair thinner) and the milgrain wedding band is 2mm wide. And the constant cleaning is absoultely worth it; the depth of sparkle from a clean step-cut diamond is stunning. I do hope you get it!

Duckybod :  it’s a VVS1 and it does appear white the majority of time. I love my J.

Warmer diamonds are a great way to save money.
