just wanted to fill you all in our honeymoon in kauai…
first of all, it was amazing, such a gorgeous island.
the first three nights, we stayed at a beautiful suite at the sheraton in poipu.
the first night, we went to dinner at keoki’s paradise, which was right across the street from the hotel. the music was lively, and it was a total touristy place but very fun! the music was very island-like. and the calamari was delish! we ordered various dishes but what really stuck out was the calamari. we ordered fish/seafood courses and we were not disappointed.
we decided to snorkel in the bay the following day…lots of different fish! it was pretty amazing. we went to dinner that night at joseelin’s tapas in poipu. the food was amazing. we had the pork belly, oysters, poached eggs and asparagus, and the ahi sampler. everything was amazing. highly recommend!
we decided to venture to waimea canyon that day…amazing. stopped for some shave ice at jo jo’s in waimea. the best shave ice in hawaii supposedly….incredible! also ate at shrimp station and ordered the thai shrimp. it was very spicy but very good!
for the next week, we ventured off to the north side of the island. we stayed in kiluhea. we stayed in a little cottage with fruit trees…we were able to pick mangos, starfruits, and papayas every morning. we were definitely able to immerse ourselves in the north kauai culture! it was so fun…this week was just amazing.
we made trips to secret beach (a total isolated beach where we drank coronas and smoked cigars with no one in sight) and ke’e beach…ke’e beach is so unreal, like you are dreaming….we hiked up to waterfalls on the napali coast. we ate tons of fresh ahi poke, laid out on the beach, my husband surfed….it was just incredible.
PM me if you have any more questions about Kauai…after visiting, we want to move there! xoxo
