So my fiance and I are planning on going to Hawaiii for our honeymoon this october. We initally wanted to do kauai bc we love doing outdoor things like hiking, kayaking and obviously its the island known for its beauty. But then we worried that there wouldn’t be anything to do at night time. We’re not looking for clubs or anything, just bars to go to with music and have a couple of drinks at night and it doen’t seem like there are any. Anyone who’s been to kauai could you mention what you guys did at night, if you were able to find any live music and places to hang out at within walking distance of your hotel/condo? Thanks!!!

@Moonsuzy: we were in kauai for our first anniversary, and while it was such a beautiful/relaxing island, there is not a huge deal of nightlife. we were there for 4 nights, and went to one local bar, which we had to drive to. even the bar at our hotel was pretty dead by 10 most nights. we stayed on the north shore though, so perhaps things are more lively down in the south.

@lanany10: I think my fiance and I will also be going to Kauai in November so I would be interested in what others have to say as well. 🙂

I’m not familiar with the nightlife at all, but if you need tips on outdoorsy stuff there, let me know! (Or check tripadvisor.com, they’re good too!)

@Heartly: We know there will be TONS of outdoorsy stuffy to do which we are really excited about. We just hope theres a couple of places to walk to from our condo to sit, grab a drink, watch the sunset and listen to music. 🙂

There are restaurants that have live music. There isn’t any real “clubs” but if you’re looking for somthing more on the relaxed side, it’s not hard to find. There’s a place called Duke’s at the Kauai Marriott which is a pretty popular place to go. Or quite a few other places, on different areas on the island.
