We went dress shopping today and I found a designer gown at a local bridal store…it looked amazing on lye & it felt very comfortable. Everyone in the store went on and on about how nice it looked, including other customers. What does the hive say?

It is a beautiful dress but i honestly think you could definatley find something more flattering for your body shape. Obviously thought im a stranger on the internet and if you truely love it go with your gut

Keep looking. I feel like you could find something better.

I think the dress is very nice and if you feel really comfy in it, get it. But there is nothing wrong with trying some other dresses too.

It looks like it’s too tight in the hips and too loose in the bust. With alterations and supportive undergarments, yes, this could be the dress. It’s very pretty. I wouldn’t buy it without talking to the alteration department or trying it on with a bustier/corset/spanx/etc. Meanwhile, keep looking at other options and styles.

@ForeverAndEverAfter: That sample is so ill fitting that its hard to tell what it would look like properly fitted.
FWIW, I think you’d look lovely in this type of style:

It’s beautiful but I think you could find something jaw dropping. I vote keep hunting!!

Yup, keep looking. It’s a lovely dress but I am 100% certain you can find something that flatters you more.

I really appreciate the honesty. Being super plus sized, it’s hard to find things I can try on…so I seem to be falling in love with everything that fits. I deff did NOT expect the poll to be sooo 1 sided but better bees then wedding guests! Everyone loves this dress though…it’s the front runner for now. Thanks bees.

I actually think you would look great in something with A-symmetical ruching. You’ve got curves, you need something that shows them off and celebrates them! Not something that makes them look flat and squeezed.
The dress should be working for your body and not against it. There’s nothing wrong with the dress you tried on, but something like this would work in your favour and really show you off:

@ForeverAndEverAfter: I feel your pain! As a fellow plus sized bride, I know exactly how it feels! If you love the dress, that’s all that matters – YOU need to feel beautiful in it.. and when you do, you’ll glow!

@ForeverAndEverAfter: I voted keep looking, but if you felt comfortable then may it is the dress for you? I personally don’t think it’s particularly flattering for you, and would prefer you in a more defined bust line. I think that dress makes your bust and tummy all kinda merge into one sort of rectangle. You clearly have good boobs, and great cruves, so enhance then! I’m not saying get ’em up and out, but perhaps look at dresses that are empire line so they excentuate the good bits and skim the bad

@ForeverAndEverAfter: if you love it then F us! 😉
Honestly, the fact that it’s not fitted properly is probaby a big reason the vote is so one sided.
I bet once it’s altered and fits perfect you’ll look like a superstar!

@ForeverAndEverAfter: I voted “keep looking” not b/c I don’t think you look beautiful in that dress, BUT if you even have to question it, it’s not the dress for you.
After 3 dresses, I knew I had to have it. I went to my second appointment just b/c it was already scheduled, but couldn’t get it out of my head and went back to DB in a torrential thunderstorm to place my order!

@ForeverAndEverAfter: I personally think it’s not flattering at all. As a wedding dress or for your body type. On top of that it looks pretty cheap. No offense :-/
