I got this gorgeous swimsuit from Figleaves.com: (read the whole post before voting)
It was cheap for the quality (about 40-50 bucks) and it looks pretty on me. I showed it to SO to see what he thinks of it and when I walked into the room wearing it, this was the exchange:
Me: Oh, you like the suit?
Him: Your body just looks great.
Me: Thanks! But do you actually like the swimsuit?
Him: *shrugs* it’s nice.
So here’s the thing…I can’t tell if the suit is just REALLY flattering (hence, why he said ‘wow’) or if my body just looks better these days than it used to, and that’s what he was remarking on. I like the suit, but here are some pros and cons:
Gorgeous color, shape and pattern
Comes in my size (30Dirty Delete, so it’s not easy to find)
Not a Brazilian cut or push up- I usually like something sexier
Cups slightly too small. I’m between a 30Dirty Delete and 30E, but I feel like if I got a bigger size it would look matronly and too “covered”
So…I just can’t decide! Anyone want to help? For reference I’m 23, 5’6″, 120 lb, 34-24-37. I’m a little afraid this bathing suit is too “old” for me? But I also really like it! Not sure!!!

Not only is it cute, you got a “Wow” from the SO. I say keep!

@anon00: keep it . it’s cute. I think you FI’s reaction was because he was too distracted with your figure…hahah.

@anon00: I love it & would totally rock it! My Fiance on the other hand would probably say it looks like underwear…. I don’t think it’s too “old” for you at all- polka dots, ruffles, & florals hardly translate “old” to me! If you wanna sex it up you could always sew an elastic strip down the butt to make it a scrunch booty- I did it with my VS plain bikini’s & it was super easy & like $3…

The Pros weigh out the Cons

@BeachBride2014: lol yes, the funny thing is he did not react the same way to a much sexier bikini, so go figure! Maybe he likes some stuff left to the imagination.

As someone who doesnt enjoy seeing some other woman’s lady bits all out on display when simply trying to enjoy the pool, lake or beach, i think it is fine. Super sexy underwear is great but on swim suits sometimes less is not more.

Keep it, it’s super cute. I don’t know many guys who actually care what a swim suit looks like, they care about the body in it.

I’d keep it.
I also love figleaves. I’m 1 cup bellow you same band size. What a pain in the arse it is to buy over the shoulder boulder holders.

Do they allow returns on swimsuits? Often bathing suits are excluded from any return policy because of the hygienic issues.

@anon00: Too old for you?! Lol there’s debate on whether women over 30 should wear bikinis, period, sooo I’d say you’re safe.
I think it’s cute. He went “WOW”. It’s just a swimsuit (and a well priced on at that). Keep it!

@dewingedpixie: Seriously! The worst is the fact that I’m not THAT big (my size sounds bigger than I look) so I can’t discuss bra shopping with anyone because they’ll just be like “No way are you an E cup, that’s not true.” Sorry dude, I was fitted professionally numerous times and it’s what fits me. Maybe they should go to a professional! lol

@julies1949: They do, as long as the little sticker is still attached. But you guys convinced me! I’m keeping it.
