Ok, mostly I just want to show off my dress 🙂 But I could use opinions on this dress and veil options.
I am obsessing over veils. I didn’t want to even try one on, let alone wear one at the wedding, but then I fell in love with them. Fiance doesn’t know I’m wearing a veil. I know he really wanted me to and was disappointed to hear I didn’t want one. I’m excited to surprise him.
When I tried on the sample dress I loved the tulle cathedral veil. When I tried on the dress later I realized I loved this shorter lace veil. Part of me still wants a cathedral length veil, but with lace, or maybe a two-tiered veil. Would that be too much? I want the veil to complement the dress, not compete with it. But I also think if I’m gonna wear a veil, I want to wear a big, dramatic one. So I’m not sure. What do you all think? I’ll post a few pics for reference
This first one is the one tier lace veil. Love it.
This next one is the tulle cathedral I loved when I tried on the sample. Not loving it as much anymore.
This last one is just a pretty picture 🙂 I plan on getting rid of the bow.

What about wearing the cathedral for the ceremony & the short lace one for reception? Best of both worlds

I think the shorter veil compliments it better. Both are lovely though

@PuntaCanaBride: that’s a good idea. I don’t think I’ll wear a veil at the reception though. I always envisioned getting married with flowers in my hair (I’m kind of hippy dippy like that). Now that I’ve decided to wear a veil at the ceremony I think I’ll have to put flowers in my hair at the reception. Not sure if that matches the whole look. Unless there is a way to wear a veil AND flowers? That’s crazy, right?

@PuntaCanaBride: +1 they are both so pretty! I would suggest them both too. Best of both worlds!

I had a dress very similar to yours, lace and tulle and went with a cathedral length mantilla veil. I think it worked really well so I vote for that.

@SarahCF: It’s not crazy, maybe you could decorate the comb with flowers? I think it could look very pretty if you keep the veil simple. I love the tulle cathedral one in the picture (but maybe I’m a little biased – that’s the veil I’ve wanted since I was 8, lol). Hey, Fergie managed to wear both flowers and a tiara when she married Prince Andrew! If she could pull that off, your veil + flowers idea should be a piece of cake! 🙂

@SarahCF: I’m a sucker for a cathedral mantilla dress. You look beautiful in your dress!

i voted for the mantilla. i’m a bit partial tho, because that’s what i wore. but i also feel like the cathedral length veil gets lost in your dress.
