Now that I’ve bought a dress I really dont want to tell people what it looks like because I want it to be a surprise. Problem is, and I’m sure you’ve all been through this (or are going to), but everyone wants to know what my dress looks like!!! Only my sister (my Maid/Matron of Honor and best friend) has seen the dress and she got married in 2010 and sent pics to her friends and anyone who wanted to see as soon as she chose her dress. I’m the opposite and don’t want everyone to know everything about everything and had to sternly tell her to stop. She Says she understands and will stop, but she also tries to tell me that it’s not a big deal and people won’t even remember when the time comes and I should just let some details out. I know she has a point but I remind her that it’s just the way I feel abot it, my Fiance agrees and treats the wedding details the same way. Grrr…
Also, of course people ask “have you found your dress yet?!” and I say “yes” and they ask to see pictures and want to know what it looks like. I have no pictures to show them bc its not online and i dont have pics from the salon yet, but honestly it makes me not want to have pics of it at all so i can keep telling people “oh so sorry I have no pictures of it!!”
For those of you wanting to keep your dress and details a secret, how do you handle all the inquiries in keeping your details to yourself while appeasing your friends and family?
Oh and to add a bit more of my need to vent, my dad is the same way. I brought the menu options when i visited last which was the first bit of wedding info he saw and just hours later he was telling his friend all the details and cost and everything. I was ok with that but the problem is the principle, I feel like I want to start hiding details from the both of them bc they are just bursting at the seams to spill the beans about everything. But again I know they are just excited, I will still let them in on things, but its just difficult…am I nuts? 🙁
