You might want to try wearing something else UNDER the dress. I bought some spanx undergarments recently and wore them under a dress to a friends wedding a few weeks ago. I usually get cold easily, but I found I was actually a lot warmer with a layer underneath (the kind that goes over your panties and up to your bra – almost like a one-piece swimsuit). It might be an option if you don’t want to cover up your dress with a sweater. It’s hard to believe since it’s a thin piece of clothing, but it being right next to my skin might have made the difference?!

My husband and I were married on October 2 up in Northern New Hampshire…I think that the high that day around 50 degrees. I knew it would be chilly so I went out and bought a cardigan that matched our color scheme. I only wore it for parts of our first look and then during the reception…left it off for the ceremony though. For the reception I paired it with a red hair flower and red necklace. I got soooo many compliments! 🙂

@sarahd07: You are the poster that gave me the idea– Thank you!! I saw your original recap and loved the way your cardigan looks.
Thank you all for your advice/ insight. I think I’m going to go with a blue cardigan to keep warm– I really love the look. 🙂

@sarahd07: So I know this thread is old and your comment is old, but I just saw it. Yes, I did end up getting a cardigan from Old Navy, of all places. It is cute and inexpensive. 🙂 Which is a good thing because it looks like it’s going to be 60 degrees and cloudy on my wedding day (this Sunday!).
, thank you for your recommendation for getting something for underneath the dress– I think I’m going to try to find something today to go under it.
