I am changing my last name but could you do:

“For the first time as a happily married couple Your First Name & His First Name!”?

Would something like that work better?

We’re doing something like “Will everyone please welcome the happy couple, Joe and Mary!” (only with our real names of course).  But we don’t really care too much about the introduction.  We’re having a smaller wedding anyway and it doesn’t totally seem to fit for us.

I’m actually going to ask them to announce us WITH our last names, so that people might notice that I haven’t changed mine!

We’ll probably do something like, for the first time as husband and wife, hisfirst hislast and myfirst mylast.

I’m not changing my name either, but for the reception, I don’t see the big deal about being introduced and “Mr. and Mrs.” because you are a unit – that’s how I see it, nothing more.  With our programs and other stuff, and my friends knowing me, no one is going to interpret the introduction as a sign that that’s my new name.

We’re actually skipping the intro. Never a moment I’ve enjoyed at other people’s weddings.

But every one of my vendors is on STRICT instructions not to call me Mrs. HisFirst HisLast. I would be peeved to get called Mrs. HisLast, and LIVID over Mrs. HisFirst HisLast. LIVID. I’m a chill bride, but I could go crazy over that.

We’re doing “And for the first time as husband and wife, bride’s first name and groom’s first name.”

I am just going for the traditional form, but to a lot of people that is really outdated and want something different.

We are not doing an intro. I assume the people at my reception already know who I am.

We are having the DJ stress the Mr and Ms part of “And now for the first time as husband and wife, Mr John Smith and Ms Jane Doe.”
