Does anyone else have any keepsakes from your relationship that you plan on using during your wedding? I have wine corks from all of our special bottles that we’ve drank, I have the first one that we ever drank together, his 32nd birthday, new years eve, etc… I think maybe I’ll use them for placecard holders on our Reserved tables and possibly holders for the candy buffet signs (We don’t usually do formal assigned seating in the south)… Of course this is all extremely premature because I’m not engaged and wasn’t the original reason I kept them, I just love having them because of the memories they bring and he when he saw them he thought it was the coolest and sweetest thing that I kept them and gave me a huge hug and kiss when he read the little labels (I used a little sharpie to say what they were used for)

I have all our movie ticket stubs, our airline boarding passes & everything from our first date weekend: both our fortunes from a spooky old machine, the pike place market wrapping paper from the “fish” flowers he bought me (they smelled like fish- really! Yuck!), the lotto tickets we scratched, etc, etc. It stopped after that first meeting though lol. Too much upkeep & crap to hold on to…
I had thought to put all of our first meeting memories in a book & use it as a guest book. I don’t remember if a Bee did it here, or if I saw it somewhere else… http://www.blurb.com

I love those ideas!
My Fiance collects wine corks in this massive hurricane vase (that I purchased because he was just throwing them in a plastic bucket.. ick) & it looks so cool! He wouldn’t let me use them though lol

Ahhh he should definitely let you use them!! They’d be cool to use though at the guest sign in table!

The very first formal gift Fiance ever gave me I will be wearing as a key component of my wedding dress arrangement- I mean, he’d given me flowers and such before this, but this was the first big gift (we’re one of those couples that tends to go overboard with each other gift-wise during holidays!).
Mind you, my wedding dress is going to be a huge puffy and elaborate black/hot pink shredded arrangement, so these will blend in better than you’re probably thinking hah- at the time they were really pricey for us (we were both just out of high school, we’ve been together seven years now, 25/26 respectively) and they were a HUGE deal for me. I was sooo in love with these boots, and they had to be shipped from the UK, but man I don’t wear them these days unless for a costume of some kind, but I always told people they’d be my wedding shoes, and low and behold, I’m sticking to it! ;D They are still my fave pair!!!
*they look really dirty here heh, but they’ve sinced been cleaned up and the laces changed 😉

Wow, I’ve never thought of that! Maybe I could use pictures of us, but he hates taking pictures so much.
Maybe name the tables after our first date places , things only we would know or something.

I wore a bracelet he bought me on a trip we took together and used sand dollars that we collected on a trip together in decorations. The corks are a cute idea. I know one of the bees was also doing this (sorry I can’t remember which one right now).

I think these are really sweet ideas. The only reason I’d be hesitant is that sometimes things are lost at weddings in the hustle and bustle. We probably wouldn’t do it because most of our keepsakes are very personal cards, some drawings, etc.

@cheerful: how about using copies of the pictures/cards. I definitely wouldn’t use original of those things, but mine will definitely be originals and since I am close with all of the vendors I’d be using they sort of know that these are more important to me than everything else so I’m sure I’d be fine.
@iasnowflake: how cool!! i’d love to see the decor of the shells!!
@msmamabear:it would be really cool to name the table this way and maybe you could have a little card on a table easel explaining the significance of the table name so that your guests could share in the moment….
@arineya:those are some kick ass shoes! i bet your wedding ensemble will be so fun and quirky!!! i cannot wait to see pictures!
