We’ve had, and used, the Calypso 2.2 Qt Whistling tea kettle for almost 2 years (about 3x/wk) and I have no complaints. We got ours from this website: http://fantes.com/kettles.html (it’s about a third of the way down the page).

@malisa0607: I love the LeCreuset kettles. I wish I could justify buying one to my husband. Or anything LeCreuset.

I bought a Chef’s Choice electric kettle back in 2005 and for the money it has been one of the best purchases I have ever made.  I would not hesitate to recommend one to anyone interested in an electric kettle upgrade.  I  wrote a review on this particular kettle since I really do love it.

Good luck!

I LOVE our OXO pick me up kettle, which looks very similar to the uplift kettle that Gerbera listed.

I got one from Kohl’s that has the tea insert because I get loose tea sometimes. I couldn’t find it on the website, but its black and the insert goes into the top, handle on the side. Also has a timer on the top. I really like it, the only thing I don’t like is that if you fill it too much and let it boil some of the tea will come out of the spout because there’s no spout topper
