The only thing I can tell you is to drink A LOT of water!  You need to try to flush it out.  If it’s too big to pass you will need to have it broken up though because it could cause a severe kidney infection if it stays there and you can’t pass urine through the ureter.

You probably wont need surgery. And thank the lord it’s not moving. Drink insane amounts of water. I’ve heard lemon water works.

My dad is really prone to kidney stones, his doctor said to drink a lot of lemon aid. He also said it would be good for me and my brother to drink a lot of lemon aid too cause apparently it runs in the family.

I get kidney stones constantly *sigh*

It’s awful when it moves. Sometimes they can stay stuck for a long time. As long as you are peeing there is nothing to worry about.

What helps it move though? Natural fresh squeezed lemonade. Not minute maid but real lemonade. It helps to eat away at it. Cranberry juice will help too. I actually mix the two together since the lemonade can be kinda gross when it’s fresh like that.  Apricots is another thing doctors have suggested.

There also a pill you can take that opens up the uterer ask for that. It’s flo something or other. That helps too. Did you have it measured how big is it?

Make sure you keep a close watch on this.  I had a kidney stone stuck in the same spot as yours for about 6 months.  It wasn’t painful just uncomfortable at times.  It was there for so long that my tissues had grown over it and I had to have surgery to have it taken out.  This caused a good amount of damage and I then had to have a stent placed for a couple months (not pleasent).  The doctors didn’t think much of the stone and let it sit for so long because it didn’t appear to be particularly large.  It actually turned otu to be 11mm.  I have been told that any drinks that are acidic can help prevent or sometimes break up stones.  My doctor tells me they say lemonade generally because its cheap but its really just anything acidic.  Best of luck.  I really hope it passes for you.

I know this might sound dumb, but how can you tell if you have a kidney stone? I have dull pains in my kidneys at times, but have never thought to get it checked out. This just made me think that maybe I have a stone stuck? I have never had one, and I really don’t want any either! I just didn’t know how you find out if you have one, or if it’s obvious that you have one?

@agirlwithdreams7:  for me there’s no questioning it.  If it’s large enough to get stuck I think you’d know you have one.  It’s horribly painful.  If you go to the doc to have it checked out they usually just look for blood in your urine and can see the stones by ultrasound.
