I got engaged on December 16, 2011. Everyone keeps asking how are the wedding plans going, but I keep telling people I have twin girls that are entering college in September. They are athletes that are being recrutied, but everything isnt confirmed. If the scholarship doesnt fall through I have to come up with at least 36k in student loans. 🙁
My Fiance is the best man in the world. I’ve been married before, and he hasn’t . I would like to give him that wedding he deserves, but he doesn’t care about the wedding. but he would like to just have a big party.
Any suggestions or ideas.
Thank you in advance for some of your suggestions and or ideas.

Your marital status could have an impact on your loan applications; it all depends on what type of loan, who’s signer and who’s co-signer, and your Fiancé’s salary compared to yours. I’d figure out right away which loan type and what the best living/marital situation would be for that loan. If it’s better for you to be married when you apply (loan in your name/Fi’s name or jointly, and he has better credit or income) then a simple civil Justice of the Peace ceremony just in case the scholarship doesn’t come through, and plan for a big bash somewhere down the road. And it’s perfectly fine to have a long engagement; if anyone asks why the date isn’t set yet, just tell them you’ve got to get through the college question first.
