    I would just wait until you get the rsvps, and then order kid’s meals- I don’t see why they need a choice.

    Most catering companies won’t serve an adult meal to a child anyway if they know there are children in attendance so that is moot. Since the kids’ meals only apply to a small number of guests, go ahead and order the kids’ meals since you don’t need to verify it with the parents beforehand.

    No. If they come, just serve them the kids meal. No need for permission or choices.

    You’ll know who the kids are and where they’re sitting. If they come, they get kids meals, period.  Under-12 is fine for a kids meal only option for the four of them (if you were talking about like a 15 year old it might be feasible that they’d want an adult meal, but kids that young won’t care).
