I’m curious. A lot of you guys say that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing but here is my dilemma: We decided to have Adult only (meaning no kids at all) but Future Mother-In-Law is really upset that FI’s nephews aren’t invited. My neice and nephew aren’t invited and we are much closer with them. I also have a lot of cousins (whom I am close with) and friends with young kids who will not be invited. What is fair in this circumstance? Should I allow Future Mother-In-Law to get her grandsons into our Adult-only reception? We even wrote Adult only reception on our Save-The-Date Cards.

Are they Out of Town guests? If not, I would stick with your adult only. If they are Out of Town, then I personally would allow them. I actually prefer all or nothing – otherwise, someone is left questionning why they didn’t get to bring their kids, yet there are kids there.

@milesbella: Well technically everyone is Out of Town because our resort is about an hour from most of our guests (including FI’s nephews).

We’re only inviting my nieces and nephew as they’re part of the bridal party but that’s it for us.

@MUI831: Are you worried of offending other guests or would you say that’s acceptable? I’m just worried of offending family.
