I’m a huge wimp when it comes to spiders. It stems from being chased with them by my brother growing up and so now I freak out when I come across one and my long suffering husband is now my go-to spider killer. I’m also quite short, so he gets dishes down from the top shelf for me constantly and opens pickle jars because I’m not strong enough.
What specific things do you get your SO to do for you because you either can’t do it by yourself, or just don’t like it?

Well we don’t kill spiders as they are carnivorous and eat other bugs. Really big ones are carefully transported outside. When my hand was broken, FH had to open all cans and jars for me. But usually I open then myself – I am more physically fit than FH. He does get to put things up or down from high places as he is taller than me. But if he is not around, I use a step stool.

Fiance is pretty tall and he can reach the smoke alarm on the ceiling without having to grab a chair or step stool. I always have to run to the dining room to get a chair to stand on. Any time the alarm goes off when we’re cooking (which is pretty often, actually), I just let him do it. It’s at the point where I don’t even flinch if the alarm goes off because I know he’ll just go ahead and turn it off.

Grocery shopping! I detest it, and he loves it. Works out well!

I don’t like any kind of bugs, so that’s FI’s job if one ever comes near me!
And this is also my FI’s “job” just because I’m too lazy to do it – he is always getting my car washed! He hates my car all dirty (he has a bit of a car fettish) so he’ll constantly run my car through the car wash after he puts gas in it (yes, I’m not sure why, but he randomly fills my car too!)

My Fiance always puts the bowls away for me when unloading the dishwasher because these go on the higher shelf and, at a measly height of 5’0″, I can’t reach! Other than that, I do almost everything myself… hmm, maybe I should let my Fiance do more so that he can feel useful 😉

Killing Spiders, Mowing/Edging the Lawn, Unclogging the toilet
I can open jars on my own 85% of the time, he only gets called for help in dire circumstances

@lavenderstone: …since I’m deathly allergic to any kind of spider bite Mr. 99 dispatches them with the help of the cat, other than that, he’s in charge of the yard, dog poop, anything broken that needs to be fixed any and all things that require someone going into our crawl space…which I pretty sure is the gateway to hell.

Hub kills the spiders and other creepy crawlies. Thanks to a never-fail trick from my grandma, I am the master of all things jarred and canned.

Taking out the garbage…..I do not know why but I absolutely detest taking out the garbage. I told him that is the only thing I absolutely hate doing and he has no problem with it.
I am the neat freak in our house…so I do all the cleaning/dusting. Otherwise, we are pretty well rounded. We both do the dishes/dishwasher, laundry, vacuum etc. But garbage is strictly DH! Just like cleaning the bathrooms is strictly me since I know he will never clean it to my standards haha

Anything car related. Puting new wipers on; checking oil, etc…
Also anything plumbing related. He also has a construction background, so if anything happens he can fix it 🙂

Anything with power tools… I’m completely useless.
Also, I get the spiders, he gets the roaches. I 100% can’t do roaches, and he 100% can’t do spiders. I don’t mind them. Luckily no roaches in the new house (KNOCK ON WOOD!! BLECH!!)
I like my little rubber jar opener, so I’m pretty unstoppable in the kitchen as far as that’s concerned (except when I had a big gash on my palm).

Any kind of lawn work. I really just don’t care about the yard, so he’s in charge.
Darling Husband also takes out the trash/recycling, and unloads the dishwasher.

@lavenderstone: We both do the house work but I never take out the trash. That’s really the only thing I specifically leave for him. I hate touching trash cans. Germs! 😛
