Taking out the trash, cleaning the toilet, most of the outdoor stuff.

Funnily enough, I’m the insect killer in the relationship.

Oh Mr.Duck has several man duties that for the most part I am capable of, but he loves me so much that he does them for me: trash, carrying the laundry basket downstairs, anything relating to our cars, pretty much anything involving heavy labor and changing the fish filter (I’m to short to reach it).

I just pretend I don’t see the spiders, because they munch on the bugs that will eat my orchid. I actually had a spider living inside one of my potted orchids, he’d run out whenever I watered and chill on a leaf and we had a mutal understanding lol

SO’s jobs:

  1. Kills all bugs
  2. Does almost all of the heavylifting
  3. Assembles anything that didn’t come put together already
  4. Fixes things that break
  5. Any Tech related stuff (this includes everything from fixing my computer to setting up the cable boxes).
  6. Fiddles with the smoke alarms when necessary
  7. Reaches for things on the higher shelves/ puts things away that go on the higher shelves
  8. Unloads groceries (he is solidly against putting them away though. Somehow he thinks that’s my job. On the two occassions that he has attempted to put groceries away, he just left stuff in the plastic grocery bags and placed the bags in the fridge and pantry. . .SMH)
  9. Opens jars and bottles (with the exception of Champagne bottles lately.  I tried to make this his job & it was until recently. Despite my love for the bubbly, I really don’t like to open the bottles myself.  SO’s been a little reluctant lately, due to a bad experience with trying to drukenly crack open some bubbly in bed one night).

Taking out the trash and cleaning the litter box. I think otherwise we either share or I do it!

None, really. I lived on my own for years so there’s not much I can’t do. Plus, I actually like spiders – they are great for eating other, more pesky insects!

@Sunnyday278:  Get a flat head screwdriver. Tuck it into the threads, and very gently twist it just enough to flex the metal and let air into the vaccuum.

We’re pretty even on tasks. Bugs are friends except roaches which terrify us both and must die. We both hunt them in the midst of freaking out. I’ve got a lot of pride in my independance, so he respects that I like doing it for myself. He does however, take on tge manly roles of carrying heavy things and putting his jacket on me if I am cold.

@lavenderstone:  I WANT TO TOUCH THAT ANIMAL SO MUCH. It looks like it’s made of candy.

@littlebeanpole:  Oh, the air freshener worked! I came really close to the spider though so I think it was the moisture and the pressure from the can that did the work, not the actual chemicals. Then I vacuumed it up. I’ll do anything to avoid touching them! lol So if you’re ever out of bug spray you can try air freshener or hair spray instead of sleeping in the car 😀

Anything I don’t want to do?

Laundry, cleaning the bathroom, moping the floor, fixing things around the house, cleaning the windows, keeping our storage locker organized.. the list goes on.

DH’s job is laundry. I detest doing laundry and I can never seem to follow through with it. DH got annoyed in the past and now has taken it upon himself to do all our household and personal laundry. I’ve taken up cleaning the bathroom as a replacement.

He is also in charge of anything to do with electronics or technology, which is fine by both of us, given that he has a masters of engineering. He is also the one who fixes our truck or does any upgrades on it.

DH is also the weekend breakfast maker. He makes absolutely delicious breakfasts, so I’m not complaining!

All other stuff is split equally. I end up cleaning a bit more (because I have more free time), but I wouldn’t say there is anything Mr or Mrs Narwhal specific. We both put gas in the truck, we both catch and release bugs of any kind and we both randomly tidy our apartment.

Things that gross me out, DH can take care of. This includes bugs, but even like dried food in the sink, or something I can’t identify. I start to gag right away if there’s something gross looking to me, and he takes care of it while laughing at me the entire time.

Things around the house I normally take care of…he could barely use a drill for gods sake.
